There’s something about a New Moon that feels like a whisper — a quiet reset, an invitation to begin again. As we approach the May 26 New Moon, I’m releasing four new pieces that capture the stillness, softness, and mystery of the coast — from a moonlit night to a golden dawn, these photographs depict moments suspended in time through long exposure photography.
Each image was created at Wrightsville Beach, where I often return to listen, to slow down, and to create. This series, like the moon itself, moves from dark to light — a visual journey from night into dawn.
“Moon Tide”
A dark navy photograph taken just before sunrise, this long exposure captures the moon hanging quietly over the water. The beach dissolves into soft movement, a moody meditation on stillness and change.
“First Light”
As the sun began to rise, I let the shutter stretch — and the ocean blurred into golden abstraction. This image is warm, hopeful, a gentle reminder that light always finds a way back in.
“Deep Current”
This navy-toned piece is all about the moment before a wave breaks — motion held in tension. It’s minimal, powerful, and quietly alive, perfect for bringing a bit of coastal calm into any space.
“Soft Tide”
Captured after sunrise, this abstract long exposure feels like a breath of fresh air. Pale blues and soft grays blend into one another, evoking the gentle rhythm of the day waking up.
These pieces were made to honor the subtle beauty of transition — the kind of energy the New Moon so perfectly represents. Whether you're starting something new or simply craving a visual exhale, I hope this collection brings you back to the quiet magic of the sea.
